They built a nest right next to my front door and getting stung is the last thing I need. What have yall done to handle this?

If you don't want to use wasp spray you can wait until dark and hit them with a glass of warm water that has a healthy squeeze or to of Dawn dish soap in it. Or you can pour a cup of gasoline in a wide mouth jar and, again waiting until dark, raise the jar over the nest. The wasps will drop into the gas when they try to leave the nest and die.

I usually hit nests at night with spray when they’re slow, then remove it next day once it’s safe.

The safest approach is usually a combination of timing and deterrence. Treat the nest at night with a dust or spray designed for wasps, wear protective clothing and keep a safe escape route planned in case things get aggressive.

For wasps and hornets, spray Raid at night when they’re all settled in the nest. Stand back about fifteen feet and drench it. Early mornings work too, when it’s still cold and they’re slower.

You can get a foaming wasp spray designed to drench them and not let them fly off the nest
