I always have a thing for unique calibers and the Dan Wesson .327 Federal Magnum has me really curious. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of info available. Does anyone know how rare their production was?

As far as I know there was only one DW chambered for the 327 Federal Magnum and it was a one of produced for John Taffin. For a while Gary Reeder was converting 32 H&R mag cylinders to 327.

I bought a Dan Wesson Pistol Pak 357 back in the 70s. It was a good shooter and a novelty at the range but I eventually found someone that wanted it more than I did. I have always wanted a Single Six in 327 Fed or a true custom Single Six chamber for 25-20.

That actually lines up with the few bits I’ve been able to uncover, so thanks for confirming it! A one-off for Taffin really does explain why there’s almost no info available. I didn’t realize Reeder was doing those conversions either. It sounds like the Dan Wesson stuff is more niche than I originally thought. It’s great you mentioned the Single Six idea too, because that’s kind of where I’m leaning now if I ever decide to go down the .327 path.
