If you’ve played around with different suppressor mounts, did you find any noticeable differences in backpressure or blowback depending on the muzzle device and thread pitch? I’m really interested in hearing which setups worked best for you, especially when you made gas tuning changes and what suppressors you had in the mix.

Messing with mounts taught me fast that gas systems are all about balance. Change one part and suddenly everything else has to be adjusted.

Gas systems are a balancing act, tweak one component and you end up chasing reliability, recoil and timing all over again.

I am in the direct thread mount camp. While I own some ARs I have yet to mount a suppressor on one so I haven't experienced any gas issues. My bolt guns and almost all my rimfires are threaded. The .300 Win Mag came that way and I was curious as to why until I fired that first round. Not only was the sound dampened but the recoil was reduced.

I just feel the thread protector on a bolt guns is cleaner looking than a bulky muzzle device/suppressor mount.
