I have a Miroku Browning SA-22 and an FN made SA-22 short. I have played shot them more consistently than anything else I own this past year. They VEX me. The accuracy of the .22 LR is good enough for squirrels and other small game but the trigger pull is atrocious! It is so bad on the .22 short model that offhand accuracy is affected by it.
My current plan is to purchase another fire control group and start experimenting. I will start bu simply stoning the surfaces involved without eliminating or changing any angles of mating surfaces. If that works I will move on to the rifles and make the necessary changes in them. If it doesn't I will look into the geometry of the sears. Some research shows the first stage of the FN trigger can be eliminated. That in itself would be an improvement.
I purchased a Savage Rascal for my grandson. He is only 4 months old so I have plenty of time to work on his, But I have some experience with that platform and am considering getting one for myself. There are 3-D printed stock extensions available to make the stock "adult sized" and the accuracy is good enough to be interesting. I have been thinking of building one into a backpacking pseudo survival type rifle.
