Am I too old for this?

I checked out the revolver shelf at the shop and it struck me how much things have changed since it was all .22s and .38s. The in-between options seem to be pretty hard to come by these days. I figured I’d drop by here to see what others are still finding.

It is not about how old guns are. It is about what is selling now. Stores want to sell what everyone is buying. People love polymer guns. You can still find revolvers in the middle range calibers but they are not as popular. You may need to ask someone to order it for you instead of just grabbing it off the shelf.

You’re not too old, the market just got louder. The classics quietly work while everyone argues calibers.

As you noted, the market has changed. The calibers I saw as a young man are not compatible with the polymer semi auto crowd.

I know a few long time shops that still carry a good selection of revolvers , most used which can be a budget help. It has been a long time since I saw a 32 or 32-20 in any shop though. When I was growing up men, like my Pawpaw carried a 32 in their pocket. Law Enforcement carried .38s or 357s. Military carried .45 in a 1911. It has certainly changed in my 69 years here.
