My grandfather had a Stevens 22/410. It hung on a wall rack as long as I can remember. It was what he and later I carried when we shined rabbits at night or hunted squirrels in the woods behind his house. All of his guns disappeared after his death and everyone sounds like Sgt. Schultz when asked about them. (I know nothing! I see nothing! y'all all know how families work)

Long story short...I have been considering a combination gun addition to my VERY eclectic collection. If anyone comes across one in good shape for a decent price please send me a private message. If anyone has one they are willing to sell that would be even better.

Those Stevens combos are getting incredibly hard to find these days, aren't they? It's a real shame, seeing family guns just vanish over time.. that's a kind of loss I understand all too well. I really hope you manage to track one down, your best bet might be poking around estate sales in some of those quieter, rural counties.

You know, those old Stevens combination guns just hold so many more memories than their price tag ever suggests. My uncle used to keep one tucked behind the seat of his truck every rabbit season. It's like, half the nostalgia is about the gun itself and the other half is remembering the people who carried it before us.
