Do I need a thread protector, or can I just skip it to keep things lighter?
It's always a good idea to keep a thread protector on. An accidental bump can damage threads and we all know our firearms are subject to bumps and bruises, even those that live most of their life in a safe. Think about all the opportunities to bump or bang a barrel end; moving one into or out of the safe, laying one done , moving or removing from the truck. All are times when your threaded end could come into contact with another hard surface,Do I need a thread protector, or can I just skip it to keep things lighter?
